We share with you our best tips so that nothing stops you from jumping on your skis, no matter what is happening outside your window!

To shelter from the wind, rub your hands together and easily replace your neck warmer, it’s on board the gondola that it all happens. We are lucky to have a hybrid lift that allows you to warm up between your descents. Believe us, it makes a big difference when it’s cold!

It’s not a competition either, is it? Don’t hesitate to stop between a few descents to revitalize yourself with a good hot chocolate or a cappuccino at the Virage. Located in the chalet, our café is the ideal place to take a little break with a hot drink. Hot chocolate mustache in place and body energized, it’s off again right away!

For your youngest or even for those learning, you will be happy to know that our magic carpet is covered with a dome. After your runs on the School era, you will have a little break from the wind or bad weather sheltered on our covered magic carpet. A detail much appreciated by beginner skiers!

Our favorite hillside when it is cooler is Alfred-Desrochers! Located in the hollow of the mountain, we quickly find ourselves in an enveloping environment that delights all ski lovers. And for an even greater energy gain, hurtle down the Cascade! It is one of our legendary slopes that remains not groomed all winter and will certainly revive your thighs by skiing its bumps.

What to do when it has snowed a lot?

For some, a snowstorm is synonymous with excitement! For you, we know, it's the glades that's where it's at! We have a soft spot for those of Giroux Est: wider, but still very steep, they are sure to be hurtled down while letting out cries of joy with your great gang of friends.

For others, it's a challenge to ski in variable conditions and on slopes that are not groomed. To help you appreciate these conditions, follow the guide! We invite you to start your day with green slopes like the Familiale or the 4 Km. With a low vertical drop, the conditions will be better preserved and this will allow you to get used to the changing base and surface of the slopes more quickly.

A snowstorm could also be a great opportunity to try out our alpine uphill skiing! After a few centimetres of snow, our trails are inevitably magnificent, with the impression of not even being at a ski resort anymore. Try the Alouette or the Renard, two favourite trails that you absolutely must discover when the snow is there.

And to rent equipment, go to the Ski Vélo shop at the foot of the slopes!

What to do when rain is forecast?

Understanding the weather

First of all, when rain is forecast, it is important to look at the percentage of precipitation. If 40% rain is forecast, there is an even greater chance that it will not even rain!

Also, you should always watch the radar. This way, you will see much better whether the station is in the area affected by the showers or not.

And don't forget, we are at altitude! It is not uncommon for it to rain in Magog, but in the mountains, it is snow.

So don't just rely on the icon on your weather app, you have to look a little further away!

But what to do at the resort if we get caught in the rain?

First of all, we invite you to take refuge aboard our gondola! This will give you a well-deserved break to shake out your mittens and take shelter between your descents.

The good news is that there will be little to no traffic on the slopes and therefore, more room for you and your friends. And when there are not many people on the slopes, there are no waits at the lifts! You may do twice as many descents as usual.

If it can, it also means that the temperatures are mild. Often, this means that the snow conditions will be more spring-like! This is easy snow to ski, since the bottom of the slopes will be softened.

And of course, if the rain persists, it’s a sign that you need to move on to après-ski more quickly! And yes, our bar, the Slalom Pub, opens its doors at 11 a.m. Come and sit comfortably by the fireplace, let yourself be tempted by our daily menu, our signature beers like the Quadruple or by a poutine that’s worth it!
