As an environmentally conscious organization, we are acutely aware of growing concerns surrounding light pollution. Another consideration is the significant energy and cost that would be required to build the necessary infrastructure. As such, we do not foresee bringing night skiing to Mont-Orford in the near future.

Dogs are not permitted on the mountain at any time during the ski season. This includes the entire domain, all uphill trails, access corridors, and buildings. While we appreciate people’s desire to enjoy the outdoors with their pets, our primary concern must be the safety of our skiers.

Every morning at 6 A.M., the operations team completes a report of the ski conditions. We find in this report: the strength of the winds, the snow precipitations, the type of snow, the quality of the base and surface of the trails, as well as other details which can be important to inform our customers.

This report is sent to our team who updates our website every morning of the season from 6:30 A.M. The changes are online from 7:00 A.M. every day. All the details can be found in the Conditions section of the website. The news of the day that you find at the beginning of this page gives you additional details about the conditions and the activities that could occur during your ski day.

Please note that during the day, the conditions are subject to change depending on the weather. As soon as we receive any changes to the conditions (example a trail, chairlift closure or other), our team updates the website as soon as possible. This can obviously cause a certain delay as much to transmit the information as to update our website. We thank you in advance for your understanding!

The reason why certain slopes are closed are possible dangerous conditions, no rescuing on the slopes, or equipment and employees working. If a slope or trail is closed, it is for a good reason!

At all times, it is important to respect the slopes that are authorized for the descent after an ascent in alpine hiking.

When the resort is in operation (from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.), open and marked slopes are permitted for the descent.

Before and after the station's opening hours, only certain slopes are allowed. To view them, download the map of alpine hiking trails. Some slopes are not accessible due to trail grooming work. The grooming operations require the use of a winch, which poses a real danger for the skier who would come into contact with the steel cable. Note that the cables can be up to 1000 meters in length and these are used ANYWHERE on the mountain at one time or another. Wire rope can be difficult to detect.

The use of crampons, snowshoes, walking boots, sleds, canoe sledges, larks, are not permitted on alpine hiking trails. Why ? Most of the trails are made of natural snow or the trails are mechanically worked to provide good conditions for skiers. Any other use than ski touring damages the tracks and trails, quite simply. We want to offer the best conditions to mountain users.

Yes. The Corporation Ski & Golf Mont-Orford was created on May 31, 2011. It is made up of a board of directors made up of 7 members, including 3 elected municipal officials and 4 citizens. It is a non-profit organization that is 100% autonomous!

Mont-Orford is a territory under lease, included in the Mont-Orford National Park. This means that we manage a territory belonging to the Ministry of Forests, Wildlife and Parks through a lease that governs our actions.

According to this lease, we are free to manage, administer and supervise the activities and infrastructures found on our territory. This is the case, among other things, for downhill skiing, alpine hiking and hiking, events and activities that take place in the mountains.

No. We do not receive any fees from the Ministry or Sépaq for any activity whatsoever! Mont-Orford is completely financially independent.

The Corporation generates revenue solely through the sale of its own products (subscriptions, ski lift passes, sale of green fees and golf memberships, etc.).

These revenues do not allow us to make investments in our infrastructures or to develop long-term or 4-season projects. This is why we sometimes receive subsidies, in order to develop large-scale projects (enlargement of the chalet, replacement of the Alfred-Desrochers ski lift, improvements related to snowmaking, etc.) which will have major economic spinoffs in the region.

C’est pourquoi nous recevons par moment des subventions, afin de développer des projets d’envergure (agrandissement du chalet, remplacement de la remontée mécanique Alfred-Desrochers, améliorations liées à l’enneigement..) qui auront des retombées économiques majeures dans la région.
