Mountain biking at Mont-Orford starting in the summer of 2027 !

Thanks to the $20 million investment announced in spring 2024, a brand new mountain bike network will be developed at Mont-Orford. This major project, scheduled for summer 2027, marks an exciting turning point in 4-season development at the mountain. You've been looking forward to it, and we're proud to be able to offer you this outdoor experience at Mont-Orford.

Two sectors for all levels

The development will be spread over two distinct sectors : Giroux and Alfred-Desrochers, each offering a unique experience.

You were wondering : will the ski lifts work? The answer is no.

Our two sectors will be designed entirely for enduro riding, which means you'll have to use your legs to get up there!

Giroux Sector - Progression Zone

At the bottom of the Giroux hillside, near the bunny hill, the Giroux zone will be entirely dedicated to skill development and family fun. Developed by Sentiers Boréals, this area will feature a practice zone, a series of jumps, and a learning course dotted with skill stations, where riders of all ages can develop the techniques needed to enjoy the entire trail network.

A progression park will round out the offerings with a series of Coastal Jibs modules, providing an ideal playground for practicing balance, control, and fluidity in a friendly and safe environment. This area will become the natural starting point for exploring the network before venturing onto the higher-altitude trails.

Alfred-Desrochers Sector - Enduro in the wild

Developed by Sentiers de l’Est, the Alfred-Desrochers sector will offer approximately 13 km of enduro-style mountain bike trails, all of which are pedal-powered. Designed to allow for a natural progression, the network will feature trails that increase in difficulty as the elevation rises, ranging from beginner trails to routes intended for expert riders.

The trails will alternate between mechanically groomed sections with a smooth, rhythmic profile and more rustic segments that highlight the terrain’s natural contours and features. This creates an authentic “mountain” experience, with varied routes suitable for both beginners and those looking to hone their technical skills.

A project developed by experts

The development of the Mont-Orford mountain biking network relies on the collaboration of three PTBA-certified firms. Baere is responsible for project planning and site supervision, ensuring that the trails blend seamlessly into the natural environment and align with the overall vision for the customer experience. Sentiers de l’Est and Sentiers Boréals are responsible for on-site construction, each in their respective sectors, to deliver sustainable, fun, and accessible trails for all skill levels.

This project comes to life thanks to the expertise of two specialized partners :

Sentier Boréals, a leader in the recreational facilities, will contribute innovative structures that will enrich the overall experience.

''Sentiers Boréals is proud to begin mountain biking work at this legendary resort. Our team, which has over 30 years' experience in mountain bike trail construction, takes this structuring project to heart for the region and for the cycling and active community in Quebec and elsewhere.''

Sentier de l'Est, recognized experts in mountain bike trail design throughout Quebec, will ensure the creation of unique enduro trails, adapted to the entrain of the Alfred-Desrochers sector.

''Sentiers de l'Est aims to increase the quantity and quality of mountain bike trails throughout Quebec. When these trails find their way into our backyard, be assured that we'll be putting all our efforts into making them fun, safe and sustainable. Your expectations of this new development are very high, and so are ours.''
