We are proud to announce a $1 million investment dedicated to improving the ground at the Giroux summit, in the Magnum and Maxi slopes. The work involves strategically covering and replanting rocky areas with a mixture of uncontaminated fill soil.

This large-scale project has two major environmental and operational objectives :

Reducing snowmaking in these slopes  : By improving the trail base in these slopes, we reduce the amount of water and electricity needed to open them at the beginning of the season. Since there will be fewer rocks to cover, we will be able to offer optimal skiing conditions more quickly.

Slowing spring snowmelt  : Currently, the rocky base exposed to the sun acts as a heat conductor, causing the snow to melt more quickly. This improvement project will help maintain a cooler, more durable base, providing you with better skiing conditions later in the season.
